cosmoCARES
The goal of this committee is to perform community outreach through service, education and fellowship. While doing so we intend to generate a positive attitude toward and about African American women and bring awareness to the health, social, and educational concerns that plague women today. Ultimately we would like to provide guidance along with accessible, positive role models for the entire community and offer a helping hand in the unification and education of the female population. This committee coordinates all of our volunteer activities and community partnerships.
cosmoCOMMUNICATIONS
This committee provides members with monthly newsletters, flyers for upcoming events and maintenance of the website. They also seek sponsorships, handle Public Relations and maintain appropriate licenses and documentation.
cosmoWOMAN
This committee strives to help you: UNDERSTAND WHO YOU ARE AS A WOMAN (through exercises and activities to enable you to release the hindrances that keep you from moving forward, ESTABLISH A SUPPORT GROUP (to include support sessions sharing life stories and lessons to build strong bonds and relationships), and WALK IN PURPOSE (to understand what your divine purpose on this planet is through focused purpose-building exercises). This introspective health and wellness committee focuses on planning events to enrich our mind, body & soul. These events can include fitness classes, weekend retreats, marathon participation and faith-based forums.
cosmoEVENTS & TRAVEL
This committee plans all events. These include Purple Reign (our quarterly birthday celebrations), Cosmo in the City (our cultural outings), and quarterly business meetings. They also plan all of our trips and the yearly retreat.
cosmoMembership
Our Membership Committee promotes the mission and vision of Cosmopolitan Inc. to those women in the community that they feel would be an asset to or benefit from membership with our organization. They handle full-cycle recruiting, from the initial screening process, the interview and acceptance/denials. This committee also tracks member activity, community service and handles basic member concerns.
